*male/female pair, dark backed picoides sp. w/ distinctive lightly speckled back, more rounded head appearance than bbwo, giving weaker “pwek” calls while actively foraging by flaking. Male w/ distinctive yellow cap. Pair in suitable nesting habitat, no fledglings or cavity found during careful observation, but likely breeders. Both individuals were actively foraging during the entire observation. Exact location not specified to protect a likely nesting pair :) Photos.
