Rich green head and back, wings blackish with two dull white/buffy wing bars, dark tertials edged in white and white edged secondaries. Tail green with black edges to the feathers. Head peaked. Throat and breast lighter greenish/yellow compared to upperparts. Bold yellow/buff eye ring, expanded at rear of eye. Bill medium length with dark upper mandible and completely orange lower mandible. Legs and feet black. Hammond's Flycatcher is smaller with a longer primary projection and a stubby, mostly dark bill.
