NOTES: BNA: Song. LNS Note: Unbroken cut with internal recordist announcement gain change (MJA, 25Jan2005). BREEDING STATUS: BEHAVIOR CONTEXT: ?annoyance NOTES ON DATA FORM: recording cut at 140hz. Bird was responding to playback of own call. One bird, either immature male or female. located in shelterwood harvest unit on road off FS 12 to Lincoln Valley. [After playback, the bird began by giving several "Flight Calls" (0:01-0:05, 0:11-0:12) and then a series of "Contact Calls" (0:205-0:215). The next two parts contain stereotyped songs (0:28-0:30 - one, 0:36-0:56 - three), and the latter part ends with a few "Contact Calls" (1:02-1:03). The fourth part has four more stereotyped songs (1:04-1:33) followed by several series of soft Contact Calls (1:37, 1:40, and 1:41-1:43 when the bird flew off). The last part has both "Flight" Calls (1:47, 2:11, 2:19, and 2:22-2:24 as the bird flew off) and a series of Contact Calls (2:21-2:22). Terminology follows BNA. Quality changed from 2 to 2-1, 1-2 - CAM - 12 January 2005]. Response to playback: Approach. Response to playback: Normal song. Habitat: Forest, Coniferous Forest, Montane Grassland.
