觀察細節
Upon more research and looking at my photos more closely, this just seems like a normal winter Clark's. Original description: White in front of eye, but much black in the feathers around, above and behind the eye, like some winter plumage western grebes (but with more white in the lores). Much brighter orange bill like Clark's grebe, particularly noticeable on lower mandible. Stripe on the back of the neck looked thinner than a nearby western grebe that I stopped to study in much detail. I can't tell differences in flank color. This grebe strikes me as almost a pure Clark's, but the facial pattern is off. Will upload photos, comments welcome.
