觀察細節
Observer Kate Warrick. This Ruby-throated Hummingbird, present 24 (here) to 26 August, in the wilds 50 km n. of Beaver Creek, Yukon is astonishing given the extremely remote location, and that anyone would consider putting up a hummingbird feeder there. The narrower inner primaries and wider outer primaries help distinguish it from the very similar Anna's Hummingbird. ID analysis from Alvaro Jaramillo It’s a Ruby-throated Hummingbird. Apart from the very pale underparts including a white breast band it lacks the densely spotted throat and grayish underparts of Anna’s, it also looks small and slim based on the fake flower size. But key is the primary structure that you can see on that last photo. The inner primaries are narrower, the outers much wider and almost paddle like. This increasing width of primaries is only seen on Archilochus, and the green back and overall tone is good for Ruby-throated, not Black-chinned."
