Identification of isabellinus over phoenicuroides supported by: Absence of scaling on crown and uppertail coverts Weak facial pattern and faint supercilium Buff-cream plumage, especially on flanks, pure white almost completely absent from plumage. Sandy-colour on upperparts Scaling on underparts sparse and rufous (not brown or black)
