Very much a surprise bird, never seen one this late in the year, looked like a Hairy Woodpecker to me at first, also thought I had seen a male Hairy Woodpecker earlier this morning but that was possibly this Red-breasted Sapsucker. The Sapsucker was noticeably shivering to stay warm. 16 degrees today with clear skies.
