White head and neck with lack ear covets; thick, robust bill, no yellow tip; and dark edge to primary feathers with light grey upper body. Seen in flight and roosting with Greater Crested, Sandwich and Common Terns along Bot River Estuary as per SA Rarities and eBird reports.
