There were several western bluebirds in the park and in the field I assumed that this was a female western bluebird but upon looking at my pictures at home noticed the following: all black bill (western said to have a yellow gape), pale chin, and am I seeing white on the leading edge of the coverts? Belly appears to be a streaky/mottled white and light gray. Unfortunately this is the only picture I have of this particular bird and it flew off shortly after taking this shot. Was not able to see details of the rest of the bird. See pic. Happy for a correction.
