Lapland longspur (top) with two lark sparrows (bottom). This provides a good illustration of how the field marks differ between these species.

觀察細節

Seen on the field with lark sparrows; frequently overlapped with cowbirds and blackbirds. Similar in size to the lark sparrows. Surprisingly tricky to separate from the lark sparrows, but the facial pattern was different, contrast on the face less pronounced than with the sparrows, did not have the bold chest spot, buffy head.
