Long-staying bird touring the lakes and lawns of northern Nassau for over a month now, offering a welcome reunion following my life encounter on Election Day. Recently seems to be favoring Dosoris Pond rather than its previously preferred haunts around Beaver Lake, and accordingly spends more time hanging out here. Today observed loafing with a flock of Canada Geese out on the fairway, not far from where the Greater White-front was grazing. Initially picked out, I am proud to say, from a mostly obscured view that showed only the white-edged tertials and pale-tipped tail, which prompted me to reposition to confirm the presence of the white flank line, the dark brown head, and the prominent orange highlight on the black bill
