Likely an immature female. The bird was seen clearly today in good lighting. Rich rufous coloration on the back. Greyish tinge seen around nape area. The stripe behind eyes - ear coverts - mostly brown and similar to its overall coloration. Plumage was unlike the usual Brown shrike juveniles. Now and then the bird would drop to the ground and fly back up to its perch.
