Flyby. Seemed like it was going to land but I think it saw me and decided to keep going. Initially listed as Red-breasted Merganser but noticed chin patch, sharp demarcation on throat, and bill shape when reviewing photos so now amending to much rarer Common Merganser. Two raw (cropped) photos plus the profile photo with brightness maxed.
