Originally reported this in the field as "Hawk.SP" - pending further research. This is a relatively big hawk with white UTCs, & no red tail (yet). Gray beak. Dark cap. Speckled wide belly band. Roosting up high (like a RT). Later I also saw another probable RT down where the Bald Eagles normally roost (NE-side). OK, having completed further research, I changed the species because I now believe this is a 1st year Red-tailed Hawk. It has pale yellow eyes, narrow dark tail bands, and well defined belly band. Open to corrections if needed...
