Adult. A big individual, but it was cold and the feathers might have been fluffed out. I'd guess female. Spotted this hawk k as it landed in the serviceberry tree next to our deck. I hadn't noticed any birds at the feeders hanging off the deck. Possibly wanted to use the bird bath next to the feeders? Or, I missed a bird it was attempting to catch? As soon as it saw me through the dinette window it flew to an ash tree in the yard where I was able to get an ID photo.
