Female Pintail

A female Pintail was discovered feeding on the mud very close to the seawall off Langstone Mill Pond. It was a shade darker than a normal Pintail and had rings on both legs, making it very likely to be an escapee. The ring on the left leg (that looked like a bevelled edged nut) had “10 037”, then the word “AGE” written vertically up the ring. The other ring is curious, with a little “eye” as if it is for tethering (See photo).
