觀察細節

Perched on spruces on the old golf course along Dock road. Seen well at a distance with a spotting scope. A large hawk heavily mottled with white-especially the head and breast. Dark flanks and belly. White tail with a dark subterminal band with two thinner dark bands above that. Dark top of wings mottled with white. Underside of wings with white flight feathers edged brown and brownish coverts with dark brown patches at the outer coverts. Only the second local record for winter (December-March) with the first 6-12 December 2007.
