Female. Plumage looked like the first spring female illustration in the Sibley Guide. Originally loosely associating with the mallards a little ways out from the swimming area. Headed towards the marina before heading further out in the lake after sunset. Needed a scope to see well enough. Body appeared too large for a Ruddy and the white on the cheek extended part way down the throat. Noticeable tip on end of bill. Photos.
