Flew up into very distant tree top S of road. Got out scope to check and sure enough dark mask, overall gray above with darker black wings, light below, hooked shrike bill. Flew just as I was set up and ready to digiscope it, saw flash of white in dark wings as it bolted from top of tree. Scanned for a while, most of what looks like a good foraging field is behind a tree line and hard to see from road. Finally got additional look and very distant and poor digiscope doc shots, but better look at narrow mask and light feathering above bill and faint barring to eliminate Loggerhead Shrike.
