2nd cycle bird with pale underwing, dark gray on upper side of primaries mostly limited to outer webs giving a striped “Venetian blind” effect. Extent of dark in wings more like Thayer’s than Kumlien’s. Bird appeared bulkier and larger-billed than is typical for either of these and I thought the eye appeared yellow rather than dark.
