Changing from Larus sp to Thayer’s after discussion with others and post to NA Gulls. 1st cy that came right down the beach and joined the mingling gull flock for a little while. Many close photos taken. Head and bill size/pattern gave us pause, but determined to likely be some superficial reason like greased/wet feathers or mites making the bill appear long. Otherwise structurally the bird fit great for Thayer’s.
