Initial observation posted yesterday on iNaturalist. Many observers present at this location today. The bird was initially somewhat distant in the ship canal, but began moving towards us until it was within 25 m and diving occasionally, gradually moving back to being somewhat distant in the canal after giving us crippling views at very close range.
