Continuing bird feeding on canna lilies. Young male, with a little bit of purple on the gorget and head. Thanks so much to the homeowner for hosting and Joel for confirming the ID and getting everyone in touch! Life #532, Nebraska #356 and Nebraska Big Year #352! It was feeding primarily in the lilies along the east fence line, and liked to perch on top of a lily near the path in the backyard. Occasionally, it would fly over to the neighbor's tall maple tree and perch very near the top to preen.
