Distinctive black and white striped face. Bill long, curved, broad at the base. Base of the bill red. Dingy gray underparts. Bird came to the feeder once while I was there, then flew and perched in a lilac bush behind a neighbor's garage. Many thanks to the homeowners for their hospitality.
