Hard to count at first as they were all circling the E pond, with different sized groups touching down and taking off. Finally the majority took off N, and I was able to get a precise count from photos. One group had 39, the other 23, the other 3, and 2 remained on the cinderblock “islands” in the pond. This hotspot is a weirdly good place for this species staging. I have seen good numbers here before. Sadly homogenous flocks most of the time.
