*Rare and continuing. Second accepted Morris Co. record, the first being in 1981. Amazing find by Carolyn Rubinfeld! Foraging along the pond shore in cattails across from the canal path, viewed from the first opening of the pond. First heard, before flying into view. Light brown gallinule with yellow legs, spot above bill, dark grayish purple feathers coming in on the chest. Multiple observers. Doc photos.
