I ran into Noah Arthur at the foot of Gazos Creek Road - we birded on foot together up from the first pull-out at the pump station. About 150 yards up the road we ran into a large flock of birds moving through the riparian , mostly TOWA with some chickadees and vireos mixed in. Noah called out a Worm-eating Warbler deep in the bushes and it took us about five minutes to get a clean look at it. Medium sized warbler with stripey black and tan head. We couldn't tell if the wormie was with the flock or not. I hiked back to my car to grab my camera and while I was gone Noah got a clean shot of it. We waited around about 15 minutes for the bird to show up again even though the rest of the flock was moving downstream, but we were distracted by the news of the first ever old-world Muscicapa flycatcher for the Lower 48 coming across Telegram (somehow Noah gets a signal in Gazos Creek and I don't). So we bailed and drove to Mountain View to successfully chase the flycatcher with the dark sides. Noah's BOC photo of the Wormie (I hope he doesn't mind) and our coordinates.
