Seen standing awkwardly at roadside as we drove back from the boat launch; identified later from photographs: strong, dark border to auricular; buffy supercilium; dark lines surrounding paler middle of crown. Reddish edges to greater coverts & tertials; white edges to outer tailfeathers. Whitish belly with streaks on the sides. Long primary projection.
