Not surprisingly this bird is much more commonly seen in spring as an overshoot (but also much stronger coverage in spring). A rare bird in fall in Barrow but perhaps not entirely out of place on the tundra despite being primarily a coniferous forest breeder. I’ve seen this bird many times roadside next to scrub tundra in the fall in Denali National Park. Photos
