The continuing Ruff was in its apparently regular location on the eastern island. I had scanned the island several times, but birds continued to move around and eventually I noticed something different among the Yellowlegs. The Ruff stood out due to its smallish head and shorter, slightly drooping bill. The legs were more of a greenish-yellow, not bright. At times the tertials seemed to curl upward. A couple of my poor photos suggested that the base of the bill was lighter.
