foraging with a mixed flock of warblers. Black throat with golden yellow crown. Spending time in the canopy of the second growth birches. Tough bird to get on migration off their breeding grounds locally. Something with this species that my eye captures in mixed flocks, you just know it’s a golden-winged. Not sure if it’s their facial pattern or overall color scheme that makes them pop, but if present, they easily stand out in mixed flocks with the naked eye. Photos.
