Observed feeding on the ground in the dry and dead grasses bordering the ephemeral artificial stream (presently dry, though running on 10 Sept) on the north side of the highway. Rather tame and approachable, this bird was very focused on feeding. Gray overall with black cap and black tail, russet undertail coverts. Photos.
