觀察細節

Flew past my parked car and landed at base of willow tree near lake. Behavior, size, coloring, and characteristics consistent with red-bellied woodpecker. Red cap from nape to almost base of bill with no orange tones in nape; orangeish splotch at base of bill. Tones to the face and anterior neck slightly gray, favoring Red-bellied Woodpecker. Slight, red splash on side of face below and anterior to bill. The only trait not entirely consistent with Red-bellied Woodpecker was the lack black speckling in the rump but that seems, based on photographs in eBird, to vary a bit.
