Perched on a channel marker allowing for photos. Deep red, thin bill with black tip, deep red legs. Breast has gray wash, which in certain light is washed out in the strong light reflecting from the white channel marker. Bird preened; noted shorter-than-primaries tail. Thin black edge to tail. Underside of primaries shows dark edge. Photos to be added.
