We settled on calling them Ross's in the field. I'll add my digiscoped and heavily cropped photos. Two white geese with black wingtips. Significantly smaller than the large flock of Canada Geese they were associating with. No noticeable grin patch (granted, we're talking distant scoped views, so there could have been some distortion, but the point being there was nothing truly obvious), and their bills were relatively short and stubby, giving them a very cute look.
