Sharp "sip". Small, svelte 'spizella' largely gray on the nape and face with a warmer brownish crown. Concise white eye ring contrasting with gray face. Two white wing bars. Plain gray breast. Small, bubblegum pink bill. Continuing at this site, right at the trail from the terminus of La Joya Rd and River road at river trail. A good year for the species in NE NM. Few county records, but more in the past few years.
