Well!!! I couldn't believe my eyes, especially not on Bruny!!! When I saw a strange, rather elongated shape on the sandy side of the road, I actually thought it might be another Bluetongue... but... then, quite suddenly, it raised its head and split into F0UR CREATURES!!! They all crept across the road in a tight and nervous clump, frequently freezing up and staring at me... and the very bright chestnut cape and pale, silvery head of the mother bird shepherding her four TINY black fuzzy babies made it extremely clear what I was looking at!!! BUTT0N-QUAILS!!! I've only ever heard of one other sighting on Bruny, so this was the absolute last thing I'd EVER expected!!!
