In flight, dark larid with broad wing attachment to body and extensive white bases to primaries seen chasing Ring-billed Gulls. Two central retrices are pointed and barely project beyond neighboring tail feathers. Slender bill; upper wing "flash" encompassing bases of at least four primaries not just feather shafts. Tawny/peach tone to bright areas of upper and lower tail feathers. Thanks to Sue Barth for help with identifying the bird and for soliciting confirmation of our id from Jim Pawlicki.
