Slightly smaller than adjacent Killdeer, with a shorter, stouter build. Mottled brown on top, white belly, darker chest, and orange legs. Black and white wing pattern seen in flight. Walking back and forth from one end of the beach to the other, feeding. Photos forthcoming.
