Juvenile bird located this morning by Kyle Jones. I joined Kyle and we relocated this bird flying over the reservoir. In flight, the broad, dark band on the tail was conspicuous and the wings appeared dark overall. We watched the bird until it landed on a sandbar. I drove over to get a closer look at the bird at rest. Here it seemed smaller and more slender than the nearby Herring and Ring-billed gulls with a dark, proportionately longer bill and dark legs.
