觀察細節
- observed from ca. 17:20 to 17:42, Sept 8th 2022, weather overcast humid - a male tityra - all grayish-white on the back and mantle, contrasting with black wings - tail grayish above, pure white below - bill seemed relatively small, silvery-gray to dusky - black crown, with black extending from lores to just below the eye, narrowing behind the eye and giving way to white cheeks - foraging (for insects) in a small area in the lower left-hand corner of a single tree, where it moved rather frenetically for a while, hopping about in the foliage mostly, also making short, direct flights. When first seen it was running along a fairly large horizontal limb, the bird always stayed relatively low in the tree (mid-storey) - no vocalizations noted - eventually it stopped hopping around and just sat, completely still, amongst the foliage. - the bird was at least loosely associated with a mixed flock that had tanagers (Opal-rumped, Paradise), honeycreepers (Short-billed, Purple), White-browed Purpletuft, Variegated Flycatcher and Buff-cheeked Greenlet. The other birds eventually moved on, though, and the tityra stayed behind.
