Adult sitting on ice with herrings. Upperpart shade not appreciably different from herring, nor was size. Typical GWGU wingtip pattern, with low contrast dark, and more dark area covered and with less contrast than similarly shaded iceland; dark p9 outer web with no mirror, dark to p5 with small mark on outer web. Head, bill and body shape fits. Bird left to the west around 1:15pm and was not seen again.
