Large plover that is similar in shape to a black bellied plover, but slightly smaller. Still showing signs of black belly and throat/face as it loses breeding plumage. Smaller head and beak in proportion to a black bellied plover, and then golden spots sprinkled throughout its back area. Please see photos.
