觀察細節
**mega, found by KK earlier today. Alternate plumage bird, appearing to be a SY male. Large sparrow, with a chunky bill, long legs and jet black plumage accented by a bold white covert patch and white fringes to the tertials. The flight feathers and primary coverts were dull brown, most evident in photos, and SSM noted an in-growing outer retrice. Its habits as well as structure was reminiscent of BLGR, more so than other sparrows. The bunting made regular circuits of the parking area while we observed it, sticking primarily to the grasses immediately along the split-rail fence lines. While we were at the site, it departed twice - one up to the wires on the east side of the lot to sing and then briefly into the bayberry scrub at the SW corner of the lot. The bunting also would occasionally perch up on the split-rail fence itself and sing for periods of time!! Comically, when we first arrived and were still observing from directly behind the truck, my dad mentioned that it was singing -- which I incorrectly mentioned was likely not the case and that it must be an odd SOSP. Remarkably, once we watched it more closely in the scope, it was indeed singing! SSM mentioned a similar incident when BG first pointed out its song. Its song was actually loosely reminiscent of SOSP, much much more prolonged with phrases of staccato chip notes, chatters, and trills.
