**Very rare. First Brooklyn record, second NYC record. Has been notably expanding over the past decade, and has been nearly annual in the state for the past five years. This one part of recent region-wide irruption happening right now including 2-3 migrant flocks of over 20 each in MD and NY this month. Found by Radka Osickova at the end of a Brooklyn Bird Club morning walk, just before 3 PM. Was initially perched on Duck Island, and eventually took off and flew a couple of low laps of the western half of the lake before settling back into a tree at the eastern end of the three sisters island. I first saw it from near the war memorial adjacent to the skating rink, but then saw it from multiple points on the peninsula tip and then (once it went to the three sisters) from the base of the peninsula. Photos, video.
