MEGA - 2nd record for Türkiye. Self-found bird. Flushed after a few Common Snipes on the lakebed in the morning. Then relocated and seen by multiple observers. Identified in the field by its typical call. Then photographed in flight from different angles. Slightly but visibly darker than other snipe species. Bill rather short, toes longer than tail projection. Heavily streaked from underwing coverts to belly. No white trailing edge on the wings. Less contrasting stripes and spots on the back and upperwing, compared to other snipe species.
