觀察細節
Rare inland. Possible first parish record according to JVR. Adult male in full alternate plumage found independently by OJ and MB. First seen flying around the large flooded dirt field towards the back of the complex, and later spotted by JVR towards the back of the same field. Distant digiscope images obtained. A compact medium sized shorebird with a distinctive and complex pattern of white, rufous, and black on the upper parts when seen in flight. The most striking features of the upper parts were a large white rump and lower back and a white wing stripe. The underparts were largely white, except for a very large and obvious black chest patch. The head had a complex black-and-white harlequin pattern. Heard it call at one point; it gave a short series of low pitched "too-too-too-too" notes, rather like a soft, lower pitched Short-billed Dowitcher call. Photos by OJ
