A Western Sandpiper stands on the rocky shore of Lake Erie. The adjacent Least Sandpipers and Semipalmated Sandpiper show the contrast in size and bill length of the Western Sandpiper. Rufous patches on the scapulars and spotted flanks are visible.

觀察細節

Slightly larger than adjacent Least and Semipalmated Sandpipers. Long slightly drooping bill with rufous patches on its scapulars. Heavy spotting and streaks on chest and flanks. Two photos added, plus additional photos available if requested.
