Brant flanked by two Canada Geese
觀察細節
Text from Birder's Diary: At approximately 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 17, 2008 Richard and I located a BRANT on a gravel bar in the Yellowstone River. It was in the company of Canada Geese and assorted ducks. It was slightly larger than a nearby Mallard but smaller than the Canadas. It had a white collar that encircled the front of the neck but didn't quite connect behind the head. It was mostly a dark slightly brownish black, with a bit of streaking on the flanks with bright white around the tail. In Sibley this color is referred to as an "intermediate" form while National Geo would call it a "Black Brant". Richard and I observed the bird for about 5 hours during which time we were joined by Ed Harper and John Parker who were also able to enjoy the bird.
