Initially IDd as Harlans until I got home and looked at photos closer. Juvenile dark western with speckled wings and mottled body. pale eye and barring under tail. Within a mile of pin drop along hwy at MM 98. pulled over and took pics to be sure. Glad I did because I would have misidentified if I didn't have pics. showed wariness of stopped vehicle.
